I entered the field of sleep medicine because I really enjoy helping people. When I first meet patients, they are typically very fatigued and excessively tired during the day. After working together, I help them improve their sleep and get their energy back during the day. It is very rewarding! I like to have a collaborative, team approach with my patients. I spend a lot of time getting to know them and teaching them about their condition and ways I can help them. I really enjoy it when my patients learn a lot from our visits and can contribute to the decision making. Together, we develop a plan that works for them to treat their condition. I want my patients to know that I am there to help them succeed with their treatment. I ask them to be as open with me as they can about their struggles so that I can help them the best that I can. I want them to know that sleep problems are fixable!
